Feb. 1, 2012
I reluctantly allowed the kitten on the bed, where this close-up shows how bad his eye looks.
Feb. 2, 2012
I had to take him back to the doctor because he was depressed and barely eating, and throwing up what he ate.
The medicine helped. A lot.
By evening, after receiving the first dose of the medicine, Inkwell started enjoying the house even more. Including finding a box to play in.
Feb. 3, 2012
He improved rapidly, still scared of the toys, but finding the furniture fun to play on.
After a hard night of playing, he settled on my arm, finally acting like a real kitten instead of an old cat.
With renewed health came scratching problems, so co-workers helped out...
The press uses huge rolls of paper, and we got the center of one and nailed it to a board. I took it home with the paper still on it.
I went to a local flooring place and got a few scraps of carpet, and wound one around the scratching post.
Eric attempted to show Inky how to use the scratching post. Inkwell was unimpressed.
I later managed to teach the kitten what it was by putting treats on it.
Inkwell, feeling better, still likes to curl up on whatever handy human is around, even if that human is working on a computer.
Inkwell in the living room next to the couch he considers his scratching post.
Still in the living room.
He did a close-up, but his eye is way better than it looks in this picture.
The kitten discovered the paper I removed from the redneck scratching post we made, and decided it was more fun than the post.
He wandered over the paper a bit, then figured out it moved!
He soon figured out how to get under it and make kitten caves.
And that was the last we saw of him for awhile.

Cat in the living room.
I may have one eye winking, but I still have ONE good laser!
Feb. 5, 2012
I was delighted the day the kitten finally started playing with all the kitten toys we'd gotten for him.

Cell phone picture of Inkwell examining the remains of Eric's breakfast.
Cell phone picture: Inkwell attacks a toy mouse.
Cell phone picture: Inkwell brings his kill to mommy.
Cell phone picture: Inkwell gnaws on the lovely mousey he caught.
Cell phone picture: My eyes are better, so I can zap you with BOTH of them now.

What, did you want to use this computer? Sorry, no.
Feb. 13, 2012
Say, this is a different computer. But it's also comfy.
Ah, nice curly-up spot for me. Purrrrrrrrrrrrr...
I sleep on computer keyboard.
Did you change this keyboard? It doesn't feel the same.
I'll sleep on the keyboard one way or another.
Feb. 14, 2012
I am serene and calm. For the moment.
I appreciate this nice machine that you drip food on, but why is it so clean right now?
Feb. 16, 2012
This flashy thing won't escape me this time!
I have it! I have captured the flashy thing!
The string bit on this thing... yum... Why did you say to say cheese?
Water from the sink is better, but only if I see it run in.
Feb. 17, 2012
I am calm, beautiful and serene. Obviously.

Grabbing the cat teaser.
Disembowling the cat teaser.
The small bathroom is a good place for kitten to curl up in a sink.
Feb. 21, 2012
I got Inkwell a Bergan Turbo Scratcher, and he's half enjoyed it.
He loves batting the ball around, but hasn't figured out that the pad is a scratching pad yet.
If he figures out that the pad is for scratching, it'll easily be worth the price.
As it is, it's almost worth the price to hear him batting the ball around and around.
Feb. 22, 2012
The kitten must sleep, and the lap is a good place whenever the computer can be banished.
Feb. 23, 2012
The kitten doesn't only steal the laptop, he is also a typical male who steals the remote.
Feb. 26, 2012
Inkwell has discovered a good spot to watch the ferals in the yard and catch some rays.
Inkwell sleeps in the sunlight.
Feb. 28, 2012
Inkwell poses in the kitchen.
Inkwell's fascination with the camera focuses mostly on the camera strap, which he is determined to kill.

What do you do with a hyper kitten, what do you do with a hyper kitten, what do you do with a hyper kitten, early in the morning?
Hey ho, the kitten's biting, hey ho, the kitten's biting, hey ho, the kitten's biting, early in the morning!
Shove him away and hope he stays there, shove him away and hope he stays there, shove him away and hope he stays there, early in the morning.
Cuddle him tight so he won't eat you, cuddle him tight so he won't eat you, cuddle him tight so he won't eat you, early in the morning.
Cover your face so he can't find it, cover your face so he can't find it, cover your face so he can't find it, early in the morning.
Shut him out so you can sleep in, shut him out so you can sleep in, shut him out so you can sleep in, early in the morning.
